6. Southwick's Zoo

Southwick's was an expensive trip! We had to pay admission as well as buy ride tickets and despite the coupons I had, we still paid roughly $80 to get us all on this carousel. I'd like to say it was worth it, but as Will put it, "This carousel was expensive, puny, and hot!" We were accompanied by Grandma though and that was a nice treat! She even took a family photo of all of us on the ride.

We did enjoy ourselves at the zoo, but this was by far the smallest carousel we have ridden on - just one animal abreast with a rare pair next to each other. The sweltering heat didn't add to the ambiance, just to the sweat factor. I almost had a nervous breakdown when the ride operator disappeared right when we approached the ride. All this work, and what if we didn't get on!! We rode a few other rides and kept our eye on the carousel. The operator finally came back and we all piled on. I was worried for a minute that we were going to break it with all of our weight.
